Algebra and Geometry

High School Algebra and Geometry take turns being my favorite thing to teach.

I am able to assist students with Algebra I, first and second semester topics. Frequently, Algebra students struggle with the following:

A partial list of topics found in high school Algebra follows:

  • Solving equations and inequalities
  • Linear equations with parentheses
  • Multi-step inequalities
  • Slope, horizontal and vertical lines, graph
  • Slope-intercept form and point-slope form
  • Solving systems of equation with substitutions
  • Solving systems of equation with elimination
  • Radicals and simplifying square roots

I try to take the struggle out of learning math, clearly and patiently explaining the above concepts and many, many more.

A partial list of topics found in high school Geometry follows:

  • Points, lines, line segments, and planes
  • Perpendicular Bisector Theorem
  • Midpoint Formula
  • Distance Formula
  • Triangles: medians, altitudes, angle bisectors, and perpendicular bisectors
  • Trapezoids, quadrilaterals, and parallelograms
  • Pythagorean Theorem
  • Perimeter, area, and volume

I regularly help students gain confidence and understand these topics and many more in Geometry.
